CPD Survey now closed
Thanks all who completed our latest CPD survey. You gave us great feedback which will help us consider new offerings in the months ahead. This was not only about topics on which you’d like more CPD, but also how you’d like these days to be delivered. There was interest in more online and half day events. We also had a few offers from people to facilitate events. We are really keen to encourage this more. So if you have any ideas of topics you are interested in and open to developing, then do get in touch. The two titles below both garnered a lot of interest.
Working With Challenging Scenarios in Cognitive Analytic Therapy – 14 September 2026, Manchester
Our next event is a new offer based around a selection of the second set of training films created by Catalyse. These focus on a number of challenging situations in therapeutic work. Kathryn Pemberton and Rhona Brown are facilitating this day for CAT therapists and others with a grounding in CAT. Both experienced therapists and those returning to practice after a break may find the day useful. It may also appeal to trainees and those who provide training in CAT at different levels. Feedback we’ve had so far from screenings and use of these materials in training and CPD is that they offer rich learning opportunities.
Kathryn led on developing these films and Rhona was one of the team of volunteer actors playing roles as therapist or client. They depict improvised and realistic depictions of therapeutic moments around:
- states and state shifts
- countertransference
- endings, and
- ruptures related to beliefs and values.
Through viewing the materials, participants can experience the immediacy and intensity of such enactments in action. There will be reflective and discursive space with peers and facilitators. Scenario-focussed guided exercises will follow, with linked additional materials, in pairs and smaller and larger groups.
This day provides:
- experiential space to explore your own patterns and responses as a therapist
- consideration of how you might work with such challenges as a supervisor
- opportunity for role play or other active learning approaches to help practice skills (depending on the needs of the group)

CAT and Neurodivergence
There is much interest in further CPD on CAT with autistic people and those with other forms of neurodivergence. A two day event towards the end of this year is currently in preparation. We hope to be able to announce dates and details soon. If you’d like to register your interest then please do get in touch.
