Overview of workshop

The Covid-19 pandemic has changed the way we work with Cognitive Analytic Therapy with more therapies being offered online or by phone. After the lockdown, we believe our ways of working will have changed permanently, with more use of blended therapies, combining face to face work with new technologies.   This day aimed to build awareness of ways CAT can be blended, supported, enhanced and delivered using digital technologies. It provided an opportunity to learn about the recently developed CAT app, designed to support face to face therapy practice. Participants took away practical tools, skills and resources for continuing their journey with digital CAT.

Aims and learning outcomes

The day was designed to help participants:

  • Learn about current best practice in delivering CAT remotely, through video, phone or messaging options
  • Consider their own reciprocal roles and procedural enactments in relation to these technologies
  • Know how to assess suitability for online CAT or blended therapy
  • Understand ethical issues and risks associated with online delivery and internet-based therapies
  • Consider their own digital footprint as a therapist and how clients may track therapists’ lives & views online
  • Know how to stay safe online and manage the interface between the NHS and the internet.

Who was it for?
