I am a clinical psychologist, cognitive analytic therapist and accredited CAT supervisor. Before qualifying as a clinical psychologist in 1999 I worked as both a general and psychiatric nurse. Since qualifying as a clinical psychologist I have worked in a community mental health team, a high secure hospital, developed and managed a Primary Care Psychological Service in a local prison as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist and CAT therapist. In this role I applied CAT systemically in management and supervision. I subsequently worked in a Personality Disorder Service based within a Category B Training prison.
I have had a private practice since 2015 providing training, supervision and therapy and have delivered Personal Reformulations (PRs) to a variety of professionals and staff providing services for people who are homeless. More recently I returned to Acute and Rehabilitative Psychiatric wards for a period of time to support staff and deliver CAT informed interventions to clients during the pandemic. Having benefitted from CAT myself as a client and professional I am very committed to providing it to others.
