I qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 1999 and as a CAT Practitioner in 2006. Throughout this time, I have worked in the NHS in both physical and mental health settings with adults with a broad range of difficulties and diagnoses. During my first post, in Pain Management, I witnessed how families coped and adjusted to difficulties, and this led me to pursue training in Systemic (family) therapy approaches. I became interested in CAT when first working in a Community Mental Health team, as it offered a way of thinking in more depth with people about their difficulties, whilst also being collaborative and focussed. Recently I have gained experience in the application of CAT with individuals in work environments.
