I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist, CAT practitioner and accredited CAT supervisor. I qualified over thirty years ago and for the majority of my career worked in the NHS as a Consultant Clinical Psychologist, providing psychological input in a wide variety of settings; in-patient and community services, GP surgeries, as well as palliative care and specialist psychotherapy services. This meant working with staff teams as well as offering group and individual therapy.
My early training was in cognitive behavioural and psychodynamic therapy. In 1998 I qualified in cognitive analytic therapy. I have now retired from the NHS but continue in independent practice. The majority of my work now is with individuals on a one-to-one basis who are suffering with depression, anxiety, eating disorders, relational difficulties and abuse (or just feeling that life is too tough to keep going without someone to talk to).
